Hunting is the practice of killing or trapping any animal, or pursuing it with the intent of doing so. Hunting wildlife or feral animals is most commonly done by humans for food, recreation, or trade. In present-day use, lawful hunting is distinguished from poaching, which is the illegal killing, trapping or capture of the hunted species. The species that are hunted are referred to as game and are usually mammals and birds.
Alternatives to huntingEdit
There are alternatives to hunting. For those who want to shoot animals for recreation, shooting with a camera causes no harm and also gives photos as mementos of the experience. Hunting for fur or skin is unnecessary as there are a great number of fake furs and skins that work just as well if not better. And hunting is unnecessary for food as human beings can be quite healthy on a vegetarian or vegan diet.
