Miley Ray Cyrus usually called Miley Cyrus is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She is best known for her role as Miley Stewart (secret identity of Hannah Montana) on the Disney Channel television series Hannah Montana, and for her career as a singer and songwriter. She is also an animal rights activist.

Early lifeEdit

Destiny Hope Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, a suburb of Nashville, to Letitia Jean "Tish" Finley Cyrus and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. She grew up on a 500-acre (2.0 km2) farm in Franklin and has two older siblings, an older half-brother, and two younger siblings.

Animal rightsEdit

Cyrus has rescued several dogs that she cares for as companion animals.

Cyrus has campaigned for animals rights. For her 20th birthday, PETA "gave" her a birthday present of a rescued pig in recognition of her support for pigs:

During a recent appearance on Ellen, Miley talked about how much she loves pigs, so PETA sponsored a very special pig in her honor. Nora, whom PETA helped rescue, is a resident at Kindred Spirits Sanctuary, a picturesque farm in Ocala, Florida, that gives refuge to animals who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, including pigs, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, turkeys, horses, and donkeys.

After her dog Floyd died suddenly in April 2014, Miley did adopt a pig. In August 2014, she Instagrammed photos of a pig named Bubba Sue.
